Outside and Purple Belt

Little Cutie tested and earned her purple belt.  This is the second belt in the Intermediate level.  Really proud of her.  In the last photo, she is with our hearing impaired student.  Her mom takes and is totally deaf.  I know some sign language from a previous church having a deaf ministry….enough to communicate. 😉   However, I’m hoping to learn more…especially understanding it. 🙂

I got some pretty good photos of the lunar eclipse a few weeks back,  considering they are taken with my point and shoot camera Stephen got me for Christmas.

I try to keep the birds fed. Photos are taken from inside (from the school/tutoring room). Got a few good shots of the Dogwood and the flowers.

I also go a decent shot of Jupiter and Mars Conjunction.  😉 I stood at the end of our driveway, in awe of Father God’s handiwork.  I mean, I’m standing on the only inhabitable planet, looking up and seeing three more planets…Jupiter and Mars and (no photo) but Venus was off to the left, lower down. Amazing to me.

Trying to get caught up for summer students.  All my students stayed for summer except one and his sister takes two hours to save a place for him for fall. My student taking every other Monday (due to my Black Belt Class) is taking twice a week and I’ll lower one of my upcoming 7th graders to one hour (instead of two he’s been doing) when he returns from his dad’s.  I also have three new students getting a free evaluation this week, then they start next week.  So yeah, busy, busy.  Later, y’all.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that.

I got the results for the AS Awareness Poster Contest Winners.  They are below.  Little Cute won first place ($30 visa card) in children’s category.

Stephen’s surgery was postponed because his blood sugar was too high.  We were big time disappointed.  But that needs to be under control and hopefully showed him how important it is. Hoping it’ll be rescheduled in a couple of weeks.

I got my hair touched up…same colors just touched up so no photos. But I love it.

Due to Stephen mentioning it, Little Cutie’s parents gave me a teacher appreciation gift.  Stephen always made sure the boys celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week when I was home schooling them.  Gift card to Ulta and some yogurt covered pretzels..which I love.

I’m not sleeping well and am exhausted.  I’m also continually having an issue with sinuses and coughing due to weather changes.  It’s crazy.

Summer schedule for tutoring is about done. I’m happy with it and have several new students.  Hopefully, it’ll work out.  Stephen’s birthday is next week so I’m taking him to see a movie (which we rarely get to do) and out to eat.  As a gift, I’m putting back money for him to spend at a concert the “boys” are taking him to in August (a Christmas gift from the all).  If he doesn’t have the surgery fairly soon, he won’t be able to go.  We’re already going to have to reschedule our trip…again. Sigh

Little Cutie and Stephen have camped out a couple of times.  They had fun.  I had an issue with LC’s mom and her not working out my Sat. off.  She was accusatory and (what we call in the South) ugly in her messages, so I just stopped texting and I haven’t really spoken to her since. I refuse to take Tbear this week to give them a break.  They truly don’t need one but need to step up and parent. Just saying.

I’m sure there’s stuff I’ve left out, but to be honest, I’m just exhausted.  I need a for real rest and decent sleep.  I’m hoping the pain level will ease off and I’ll be able to sleep better.  I also think I’ve caught up with all of you.  Later gators.

Mother’s Day weekend

Since my last student’s parent was afraid to come out b/c of bad weather, we got to the farm a bit earlier than planned Friday night.  Saturday, our oldest came by with a card and Kindle gift card for me. 😉 Enjoyed the visit.  My sister and brother in law came to visit too.  My sister and I laugh b/c my my phone said no filter but we know better. 😉 Enjoyed Sat. with the family.  Sunday, we got to take my parents to church and then my older brother came to visit.  We had a great afternoon before we had to leave. My younger brother lives in FL He comes to visit when he can. I love him, but he ruined things with his wife and kids. He’s remarried and I have no desire to meet the new family (there’s a lot of stuff I’m not writing now). I talk to him, text him, etc, but haven’t seen him since he got married..in Feb I think.  Anyway, my mama wants a pic of all four of us and wants me to come down in June when my younger brother comes.  I’ll pray about it.  I truly may not have a way since Stephen can’t travel. We shall see.

My sister and I spotted two groundhogs.  Later, I saw three.  Yesterday, (or today b/4 leaving) my brother spotted four.  My brother and I also waked the farm and spotted a snake.  If you look closely, you can see his meal. I tried not to bother him too much while he was eating. I’d love to have one (black snake) in our yard. I forgot my camera but the phone pics this weekend came out fine.

Sunday, we stopped by our oldest son’s house and got a record player he had for me.  I’d wanted one for a long time for the school room.  I still have records that I had as a child, ones from when the boys were little, and ones I used in school and home school. I’m excited.

Oldest son

When we arrived home, our middle son (and family) had a sweet card and a painted pony for me.  I collect painted ponies and they are getting difficult to find.  This one is gorgeous.  It’s also a Christmas one and is named Gloria.  Of course our youngest didn’t acknowledge me at all but…at least he’s talked to me some lately.  I try not to let it get to me. I have to start taking care of me. Stephen will be out of commission for two to three months after his surgery next week.  Praying it’s only two months. 😉

All in all, it was a great weekend. Back to the grind today. 😉  Fortunately, my students love coming to tutoring and I’m grateful.  Ankylosing Spondylitis Poster Contest winners will be announced on Thursday.

Feeling Blue ;-) For Ankylosing Spondylitis Awareness

We had our Blue Shirt Day for Ankylosing Spondylitis Awareness.  Just got a picture of our dojo.  The other dojo had pics (they have more classes) but I didn’t get those photos.

Our “Walk for Ankylosing Spondylitis Awareness” was yesterday (Sat).  We had an awesome turn out.  I have more pictures on my camera but don’t have them on the computer yet so.. One lady brought blue noodles so we got to carry them too.  Had a great number of posters turned in this year for the poster contest too. I just got them to the judges today so I’ll let you know the results when I can.  We walked over a mile in our down town.  It was great.  A great time was had by all and I’m so grateful, humbled and happy.  Afterwards, a friend took me and Little Cutie to Zaxby’s.  When I got home, Tbear was ready for a nap. LOL.

You can see me with my noodle and someone’s poster right behind the woman taking the pic.

That’s the women I teach with pushing her FIL. They only went half way but that was a LOT!! People pushed their kids in strollers. It was great.

Look at that crowd

My Sensei in front..waving. His wife was pushing his dad in the wheelchair.

Me..holding Little Cutie’s poster.

The little blond is our hearing impaired student. Her mom (behind them) is totally deaf so I’m practicing what sign language I know. She’s teaching me more but I’m hoping to get a class. We shall see.

Me with my little hearing impaired student. She has cochlear implants. Since I can sign with her, she’s taken to me and I just love her. She’s precious.

Little Cutie on the way to the walk

I’m also very tired and in pain today. However, it was worth it. We plan to head to my parents this weekend for Mother’s Day.  Stephen has pre-surgery the 5th and surgery the 18th.  After that, he can’t travel further than 30 minutes for 2 to three months.  ;-(  He’ll also have to use the walker.  So..I’m ready for him to be better. 😉 Prayers appreciated.

Hope all of you are well.  Will catch up later.

While I have a moment

I know I just posted yesterday but I thought I’d post pictures of the kids while I had a moment.  Those are few and far between.  Little Cutie will be so patient while we try to get a good photo of her and Tbear.  Tbear doesn’t care that we want him smiling and looking at the cameral. LOL.
